As the academic year progresses the student is less and less alone in the crowds . . . he has friends now, good friends who have individuated themselves from the herd . . . friends to talk ivith in the lounge . . . friends to eat with . . . to play cards with . . . to double date . . . let's go up for a hamburg . . . how- about a hand or two of Pinochle . . . with my roomie . . . I've been waiting for you since . . . come on over to my place tonight and we'll study for . . . haven't got one tonight. Think you could fix me up with . . . what're you doing tonight, brothers . . . The simple, unspoken pleasures of masculine friendship lend a sense of worth to the most mundane activities done together. The friends of a man's college years may disappear from the stage of his life on graduation day or may endure throughout the remainder of his days. In either case, the college years, the years of roomies and buddies and brothers, are not soon for- gotten. 19

The out-of-class life of the Gannon man is liberally seasoned with a multiplicity of extracurricular activities, and he savors it fully, and it is good.
