President Distinguished Citizen of the Year Rt. Rev. Msgr. Wilfred J. Nash was singularly honored this year by the Greater Erie Chambei of Commerce, which voted him the Distinguished Citizen of the Year. Made in recognition of Msgr. Nash's untiring leadership, and for his many contributions toward making Erie a better place in which to live, the honor was indicative of the type of leader that we are fortunate to have here at Gannon. Through his con- tinued efforts to improve the cal- ibre of the curriculum, the fac- ulty, and the students, he has led the way for the college to be a source of pride and distinction for the community and a source of encouragement and growth for the students. As one of the foremost proponents of Gannon's current expansion program, Msgr. Nash has shown that he will continue to lead the way in the efforts to make Gan- non College known and respected as a center of culture and learn- ing, and a molder of strong, in- telligent citizens. Nash President's Council Composed of the deans of each divi- sion, the assistant to the President, the Director of Student Personnel Services, the Treasurer, the Head Li- brarian, and the Business Manager, the President's Council is concerned with maintaining the efficient organi- zation of the school. Their function is to determine policy and coordinate the activities of their various depart- ments to provide a smooth working in- tellectual plant, and to assure the financial welfare of the college as a whole.
