Claws Cheering Leos Am The Cheering Leos and Wild Screamers, better known as CLAWS, is made up of a group of students who wished to join a club to support the L.V.C. Basketball teams. For a fee of $2.00 the student was given a T-shirt with CLAWS printed across it and a ticket to ride the rooter bus which left at 6 p.m. to the basketball game against Redlands on Feb. 11. The cheering Leos showed lots of spirit, led in cheers by Vic Roe, Bruce Mines and John Shyldmeyer. As Vic roe Shouted out the appropiate letters, some of the CLAWS put on a half time show forming the work La Verne across the floor. Although La Verne went down to defeat, everyone had a good rowdy time, and they all had plenty of opportunity to cheer and scream as much as they liked. 104 Fans

Once again the wrestling team at La Verne College experienced a building year. Led by returning lettermen Lindsey Brewer and Ross Barons, the team was under the direction of a new coach, Reed Gratz. Plagued by injuries, schedule conflicts, and lack of interest, the team was frustrated because they lacked school support. However, individually the wrestlers found their sport rewarding and the traditional La Verne element of surprise an asset.
