g7zZa62QCP,Z4fl -I-I I E5 TO T2 In this, the draduating Class of 1947, there are twenty-four students. Among these twenty-four, there are twelve who, under the supervision of Mrs. nershel Lambert, started out togeth- er in the first grade eleven long years ago. These are: Dan Janica, Jimmy Uhytka, Innocence Haioveky, Dorothy Husak Louis Yatocha, Johnny Padilla, Josephine Trecna, Ray Beth Fowler, Gene Ratliff, Joe Tristan, Allen Pratka, and Isador Tristan. The next year there was no addition to the class. We were instructed by Mrs. Emilia Jordan who gave us our start in Arithmetic. Andrew Calaway, coming from Crescent, entered the third Erade with us and was soon followed by Helen Goff who had previously attended school in Port Lavaca. Mrs. Head was over us that year, really showing us the path in theme writing. The following year, all were made joyous on the enter- ing of Marilyn HShortyN Cook. Miss Anna Ross was our teacher that happy year. The whole class was very disappointed the next year when not a soul entered our class. Miss Daisy janica. now Mrs. James Strauss, made up for most of the disappointment however by showing us a good time and also keeping us busy. The next year, under the direction of Mrs. Leonard Ross, the class was made haDDY. or whatever you wish to say, on the entering of two more girls. These two were Dorthy Hicks and Adah Mae HPoochien Swank. The next year showed an even record with one boy fat lastl entering and the departing of a lass fno commentlg The boy being Wesley Yoas and the girl Adah Mae. This year, since it was our last in Grammar School, Kept our able sponsor, Miss Nell Harwood, very busy. Miss Harwood, with the helv of Mrs. Frueh, planned the exercises for our graduation into High School very splendidly. Our misery the next year, as Fish, was brightened when jerry Williams fformerly from Austinl and Elgin Vyvial were welcomed into the class. Mrs. C.D. Winstead was our spon- sor.

The next year. under the sponsorship of Mrs. Coeharan Drake. two girls entered. It proved that girls still existed. and also that we could not get rid of oneg namely. Adah Mae Swank. The new girl was uloude Georgia wells. Ah! Another boy. Alois Peters showed up in the eleventh. giving the boys a nice lead in uumoer. Mrs. Adair Nelso' was the class sponsor. Now entering our Senior year. the class. sponsored oy Mrs. Creighton Wood and Mrs. Russel Whitmire. welcomed two more pupils into the class: Gerry Weaver and Willie Novak. These were the last additions to our class. On the morning of September 17, the Seniors were bursting with excitement. The Senior rings had arrived. Ne were very glad to get them early in the year so they could De worn throughout the entire year. Tinis being our last year, we are very proud of the rings oe 011138 ttxey wi.ll always oe a reminder of the times in Ganado digh. According to custom, we Seniors took over tue selling of refreshments at the footoall games which netted us quite a tidy sum for the Senior Trip, a trip we will remember as the highlight of the year we enjoyed most in our high school C3.I'8e1'. 4 On March 31, the Senior Class sponsored an act put on by Montague, the magician, and his assistant. The act turned out very well and furnished a lot of fun and laughs to a great number of people. ' The Senior Play, due to the fine coaching of Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Whitmire, turned out to oe a great success- Now as we have looked back on our years at Ganado nigh we are proud of the standard that we have upheld. We pass this standard, with the assurance that it will be upheld with the utmost care, to tne Senior Class of 1948. 1 Fx ,r.
