NOVAK and ADELE HILL and lost one, EVELYN MARESH We had several Sponsors but Mrs W1nstead was w1th us the lonlemt The garla felt very lucky and were very happy about not be1ng anxtaatea, however, the boys had no such luck and were severely 1n1t1ated by the F F A boys On enterang the tenth grade sponsored by Mrs Ross, we welcomed three new pup1ls MARGIE NELL MCLEAN, ETHEL BAKER, and WILLIE ANN FRELS Be1ng war manded we took an act1ve part ll a scrap dr1ve 1h wh1ch the ent1re school part1c1pated We also bought bonds and stamps regularly each week The school had a contest to see wh1ch class could buy and sell the most stamps and bonds Our class won and for our reward we were offered a dav off from school, whxch we gladly accepted On September 5 1945 we began our eleventh year of school, spon sored by Mr Jenk1ns our new Super1ntendent The second semester M C D W1nstead sponsored our class and helped us to plan the Junxor Sen1or Banquet Three new members enrolled, WANDA HOWELL, ROMIE JANE LIBERDA, and WILLIAM BARKER, who had come w1th us to the n1nth grade and then attended another school, only to return agazn On Halloween our class had a party at the home of WILLIE ANN FRELS The group enjoyed a scavenger hunt and many other games and topped the party off by attend 1ng the m1dn1ght spook show On November 9, we ordered our graduataon r1ngs Th1s was an exc1t1ng moment for all of us On November 18, our class took over the town We charged everyone fxfteen cents for Jay walk1ng and also charged for the break1ng of other laws Everyone worked hard at th1s and lt worked ont very successfully The money made was used for the jun1or Sen1or Banquet Our Banquet took place on Apral was decorated 1D blue and wh1te and the decorat1ve theme was ranch style To carry out the theme we had a log f1re 1D the center of the gymnasaum and the wa1tresses who were sophomore gxrls, sang songs Enter1ng our ben1or year of school, sponsored by Mrs Varnell we welcomed one new pup1l BOBBY BROWN, and ZULABELLE MACON left us Uur new Super1ntendent th1s year 18 M Hasterson On September 17, we rece1ved our r1ngs We are all very proud of them On October 3, we had th pleasure of 1n1t1at1ng the Freshmen The 1n1t1at1on took place 1n the gymnaexum wath the entare school be1ng present Even thuugh lt was an 1n1t1at1on lt turned out to be very funny for everyone, even the Hf1shn On November 3, our class gave a Carn1val on the school ground, sponsored by Mrs Varnell We had several stands, bango, soda water and hot dogs We had a program 11 the even1ng wh1ch was 1mmensely en Joyed by everyone The money made as to be used when we take our Senaor tr1p And now, ll the year of 1946, we find ourselves at the end of the road, although our journey 18 just begannang There are f1ve members of the class who have been together through all the years They are PAUL BOEPPLE, WILMA LOU ROSS, BENNIE PETRASH, BETTY JOYCE KOLLAJA, and MARLENE SMITH These f1ve students, and the numerous others that we welcomed and lost through the years, helped to make th1s class one of the best Even though thas year means that we wall leave Ganado Bzgh School, we wall never forget our Alma Mater and the memories that are carried with it, . , i 1 A v - ' ' . r. 12, with BOBBY JOE FLEEMAN as the master of ceremonies.
