To be there just when someone needs you To share in the laughing and the crying of others To become involved in caring about someone other than yourself To be willing to give up yourself to others To be able to take from others and at the same time give of yourself To be there and understand without questions To show everything you are feeling without having to be fake To be able to make people feel that they can be free to be themselves in your presence To live in people's minds long after the sound of your voice fades away To remember someone by what he really is when troubles change him To put others before yourself and your needs, yet not to let yourself get lost while pleasing others To be considerate of everyone yet to know when to draw the limit All of these things we have experienced; All of these things we will experience; None in themselves have changed our lives drastically. Yet each has built us up to who we are today. None are important to live materialistically, Yet spiritually we have lived on things such as these since we first came together. These things will stay with us for the rest of our lives. So must the thoughts of friends soon to be separated May all find their own happiness yet remember and hold precious the happiness they once had with friends.
