Sophomore News This year the Sophomores have been developing “news hounds ’ noses. They took over editing “The Galwaynian which was published quarterly during the year. With Nelson Reichel as editor and Sherry Stockheim as his assistant, reporters Danny Grezbien, A liles Landry, Clark Reichel, Helen Wilcox and Lois Purvee were kept busy. Dick Mansfield and Ed Palmer kept the sports news up-to-date, while Barbara Suss and Anna Manas kept the gossip buzzing. The Student Council members of the Sophomore Class are Nelson Reichel and Anna Manas. Junior News . . . Donald Wolfe , . . Milton Lendl Audrey Kronsbein . Margaret Hatala Student Council Members are: Donna Faber and Milton Lendl. Class officials of the Junior Class are: President............................. Vice-President. ..................... Secretary.............................. T reasurer............................ The Junior Class has been active in getting money for their Senior Trip next year. They have put on roller skating parties, dances and have been selling refreshments at the home basketball games. The major project of the Junior Class has been the making of the yearbook. Next year the Juniors plan to have bigger and better projects than they have had this year. Senior News Class officials of the Senior Class are: President......................................................Bud Hansen Vice-President..............................................Ronnie Edwards Secretary and Treasurer........................................Eina Conde Student Council members are: Muriel Suss and Charles Sherman. Ever since September the Seniors anticipated their trip to Washington. Talk of monuments, hotels and restaurants has filled the air daily. But all the while they talked, they worked. Stationery, children’s books, Christmas cards and wrappings were sold. 21

Student Council The Student Council is made up of twelve students. 12th Grade--Muriel Suss, Charles Sherman 11th Grade--Donna Faber, Milton Lendl 10th Grade--Anna Manas, Nelson Reichel 9th Grade--Joan Landry, Ross Christy 8th Grade--Dorthey Sanders, William Maraskuss 7th Grade--Douglas Sherman, James Purvee President is Muriel Suss; Vice-President, Donna Faber; Secretary, Anna Manas, and Treasurer, Nelson Reichel. In December the Student Council put on a Christmas dance. The Student Council also organized the Galway Spring Fair and Exposition. 20

Can U Imagine The pupils in G. C. S. not knowing how to waltz? There being any pep rallies before games? Two girls wanting to be missing from the Woestina basketball games? Juniors not putting on any activities? G. C. S. students not liking the Tennessee Waltz? B. A. Class without students getting kicked out? The Sophomores beating the Juniors in History averages? Christmas parties without mistletoe ? Lillian and Audrey without each other? The Junior Cl ss being quiet at their class meetings? Students without attending Roller Skating Parties? Everyone in G. C. S. co-operating with each other for a change. G. C. S. with boys wearing suits and girls dressing up? Galway Central without Bryan Simmons ? Girls without basketball jackets? A certain girl not being on the honor roll? Sixth period being quiet? Movies without potato chips and candy? American History without a certain person not going to sleep? Girls’ gym class without basketball? A certain remark of “Perth” said at the Minstrel Show? Students not knowing everybody else’s business? The happy faces of the Juniors as they received their “Cadet class rings? Mert and Bob not getting married someday? G. C. S. students acting like grown-ups for a change? Why C. S. gets stuck and has flat tires on back roads? Galway students without “sneakers”? B. A. class being quiet? Galway finally being recognized in the league? (OH, BOY!) English classes without seeing pictures like Henry IV and Macbeth? What we students would do if Coach wasn’t around to take us to West Point, Troy or other places ? Charles Q. ever growing eyelashes? Two certain girls who were sitting in the front row at the Minstrel Show not liking the show --especially the Master of Ceremonies? Mr. Simmons not wearing loud socks and ties? Ruth A. without her laugh? A certain girl getting out of the habit of trying to have her own way? CAN U IMAGINE ???????????????????????? II
