SE ICR CLASS PRGPI-IECY May 3 1965 Humortown Kansas Dear Mr Shlpley I have Just frnrshed reading rn the paper that you are now the oresldent of the Typrcal Typrst Socrety Congratu latrons' I thought you mrght be rnterested rn knowrng what the class of 51 are now dorng As you probably know Margaret Clark rs the l t woman Presrdent of the Unrted States Also Ralph Phlllrps IS the Secretary of State Sue Plerce rs strll marrred to Rube and dorng very nrcely wrth therr erght klds Dmgbat Ignat Un huh Huh uh Ugh Mo Bo and No mo by name I have just come back from a trrp to Mars The navlga tor of the rocket shrp was Melvin Armstrong He had never been to Mars before and he had a hard t1me frndlng rt When I clrmbed on board the rocket whom should I see but Ronald Halsey and Jrm McCoy They were herng sent to Mars by the Pre rdent Mrss Clark to make a peace treaty Bonnre Merrell was the stewardess on the trrp As the shrp was gettrng ready to take of'f I saw Betty Bryan runnrng towards rt She was also a stewardess Late as usualll Someone was carrying her luggage I saw to my snrprrse that t was Paul Gelger I learned later that they had been marrred for ten years Paul had to come along wrth Betty because he always gets so lonesome wrthout her After the shrp took off I sat down rn my seat Rrght across the arsle from me sat Nancy Holman and Ronald Chambers They had yust got hltched and were takrng therr honeymoon rn Mars Much to my surprrse as we were traveling I looked out of the wrndow and whom should I see but Joe Walker rn a flyrng saucer He was takrng one of the men from Mars back to Earth wrth htm After about three hours of huntlng our navrgator found Mars and we landed Who should be there to greet us hut Ermlee Rockwell' She was the receptlonrst at the statron She took us to the hotel and we saw James Bevrngton who was the owner of the hotel After talkrng to hrm for a while we decrded to go to our rooms We called fo a bell boy and much to our asionlshment rt was Bob Walker A few hours later we had drnner served to us by the chref Chef Toney Fmney The entertamment of the even who are great dancers and a brg attraction for the hotel The next mornmg we had to leave The shrp wasnt rn good runnrng condrtron but after a few hours delay the mechanrc Gene Lake had everythrng rn order As we were takrng off I saw Paul srttlng by hrmself He was so sad When I asked htm what the trouble was he sard Betty had found a lrttle Man from Mars and would not come back to Earth wrth htm When we got back to Earth we saw an advertlsement 1n the paper See the sensatronal new Cree Corffure All of us declded we would have to try rt I suppose you are wonderrng what I am doing Well I am secretary of Conrad Gerdes who rs the presrdent of the Gerdes Lunatrc Assocratron That may explarn a few of the things I have wrltten rn this letter Yours srncerely Erleen Lake Page Frfteen , , , ' irs ' ' - ' ' T h I . .
