The unique Spanish charm of Barcelona was as captivating by night as day. It was hard to turn your back on the beauty of the city as the wee hours of the morning approached and it became time to return to the ship. 93

Barcelona was our first real Mediterranean liberty port. The city, the chief industrial and most prosperous one in Spain, is typically European with its narrow, winding streets in the old quarter and handsome boulevards in the modern part. Both the city and the people had a particular charm that isn ' t found outside of Spain.
