The men in FG are responsible for the maintenance and operation of GALVESTON's gun fire control equipment. Without this fire control gear, including the 34 and 37 directors, the Mk. 13 and Mk. 25 radars, and the main and secondary plotting rooms, it would be virtually impossible to hit a speeding aircraft or a shore target. It was through the help of FG Division that GALVESTONYS gun mounts and turrets were able to qualify for an E while participating in firing exercises off of the island of Crete.
