11st Division performed a variety of jobs. They stood watches as Boatswain ' s Mates of C-l the Watch, helmsmen, messengers, and life ring watches. A large part of the gun ® • crews, repair parties and messmen were First Division men. First Division specialized in unreps, having held as many as three or four in one day. First Division maintained the forward part of the ship from the bow to frame 57, which included the two 1,300- pound-apiece anchors, the two 6 gun turrets, and the quarterdeck area.
