Through pen and Lens mm nm eassiesss. Wfl Q ' . 1 id pq . 'un NH sq Ne.-xr.s: s Wig. - Prepared by a staff selected by faculty members, edited by Dean Lemke, advised by Miss Stoner, Miss Hatlen and Mr. Christie, printed and engraved by the Perkins Bros. Company, photographed by A. B. Christensen- that is the story of this year's Moo. It was back in the year 1917 that the yearbook made its debut in the Holstein community. Since then, it has been praised, cussed and discussed by its readers. As the annual has matured, the tendency has been for staffs to follow the same beaten track cut by preceding issues. But, not this year! After mulling over numerous suggestions, the senior class decided to adopt the magazine style, using Life magazine as the theme. After reviewing facts and figures, the staff found a wal new record has been set. Joanne Hansen and Herman Lohafer, business managers, had collected over S200 in advertising. .Then came the production period. Writers bit pencils and fingernails. Camera artists stealthily snapped in- formal moments of unaware classmates. Advisers conned suggestions of authorities and dreamed new dreams. Out of this came the Moo, the embodiment of life in Holstein High. Much was said about scarcity of film, paper, and labor for printing. All kinds of gremlins attempted to prevent attainment of the objective. But with grim determination the seniors slugged it out. After weeks of checking, re- checking. Haccentuating the positive and eliminating the negative, the dummy was finished. All there was left to do was to wait-anxious and hopeful. Standing: O. Friedrichsen. L. Agnew. Seated: Aiys C.
