The second game was lost to Schallet with Quimby taking top honors for two games also. In the first game against Anthon the girls were defeated in a one-point game. The Galva and Meriden sextets both claimed victories over the Holstein sextet by two and three points. C'Ville was a newcomer this year and was no match for the Holstein team. Cushing also fell as the Holstein girls gained speed and accuracy. After connect- ing with two straight victories they took four more before falling to defeat again. Odebolt tumbled after Cushing and next in line came the Anthon outfit. With revenge in their eyes the Holstein girls went in for a kill and got it. C'Ville and Cushing, both return games on the local court, were chalked up in the local list of victories. A powerful Galva team broke the victory line for one game. But the Piratettes came back for four more wins. The Meriden team, who had beaten them two points previously again claimed a two point victory in a close one. Schaller fell to the team on the home floor after a hard fight and a very close score. Aurthur bowed to Holstein in a nip and tuck ball game and the Odebolt ball game proved to be a see- saw, nerve- wracking game with the score jumping one way and another and only seconds to go. Holstein claimed the victory by one point in the last 20 seconds. -025-o

'un NH sq Ne.-xr.s: s Wig. - Prepared by a staff selected by faculty members, edited by Dean Lemke, advised by Miss Stoner, Miss Hatlen and Mr. Christie, printed and engraved by the Perkins Bros. Company, photographed by A. B. Christensen- that is the story of this year's Moo. It was back in the year 1917 that the yearbook made its debut in the Holstein community. Since then, it has been praised, cussed and discussed by its readers. As the annual has matured, the tendency has been for staffs to follow the same beaten track cut by preceding issues. But, not this year! After mulling over numerous suggestions, the senior class decided to adopt the magazine style, using Life magazine as the theme. After reviewing facts and figures, the staff found a wal new record has been set. Joanne Hansen and Herman Lohafer, business managers, had collected over S200 in advertising. .Then came the production period. Writers bit pencils and fingernails. Camera artists stealthily snapped in- formal moments of unaware classmates. Advisers conned suggestions of authorities and dreamed new dreams. Out of this came the Moo, the embodiment of life in Holstein High. Much was said about scarcity of film, paper, and labor for printing. All kinds of gremlins attempted to prevent attainment of the objective. But with grim determination the seniors slugged it out. After weeks of checking, re- checking. Haccentuating the positive and eliminating the negative, the dummy was finished. All there was left to do was to wait-anxious and hopeful. Standing: O. Friedrichsen. L. Agnew. Seated: Aiys C.
