A ventriloquist act was pre- sented between acts by Darrel Munz and Harold Hamil. The junior band furnished the music. The cast included: janet, a school girl, Doris Carnes, Aunt Priscilla, janet's excitable aunt, Arlene Kuchelg Matilda, Aunt Priscilla's maid, Wayna Micheel, Marmaduke, the school joke, Harold Goettschg Benja- min, an old caretaker, Everett McDermott, The Parrot, Robert Bassg jack, a school boy, Glenn Brechwaldg janet's chums fElaine, Gertrude, and Nancyj, Minerva Mercer, Phyllis Stricker and Fern Wehde, ,lackis chums fNed, Harold and Lawrencej, joe Schlecht, james Sones, and Wayne Schmidt, Village Maids, Elayne Utesch, Francine Steffen, Margaret and Florence Ogilvy. The play was given at Cherokee in May, and the junior high of Cherokee, in return, presented a play here.-Robert Stolley, The Banquet The seventh grade entertained the eighth grade and faculty at the annual banquet on May 12. The gym was appropriately decorated to represent a crazy quilt club. Pupils of the sixth grade were chosen to serve. james Sones was toastmaster, and toasts were given by Robert Stolley, Doris Carnes, james Sorensen, Harold Goettsch, Mildred jackes, Glenn Brechwald, Wayna Micheel, Florence and Margaret Ogilvy. Darrel Munz was master-of-ceremony for the floor show which consisted of songs and dances. The rest of the evening was spent dancingHAgnes Schlecht. The Blitzen The eighth grade was very successful in selling and printing the Junior High Blitzen. Many copies were sold and the profit was spent in junior high. The 1935 staff consists of the following: Editor-in-chief, ,james Sorenseng Assistant Editor, Robert Stolleyg Business Manager, james Sones: Social Editor, Elayne Utesch, Local Items, Florence Ogilvyg Story Writer, Minerva Mercer, joke Editor. Wyman Leinbaughg Cartoonist, Lloyd Lemkeg Sports Editors, Ferne Wehde and Marvin Willg Special Features, Wayna Micheelg Seventh Grade Reporter, Agnes Schlecht. The other members of the class served as reporters.-Robert Stolley. Music The junior high is very interested in music. There are eleven pupils in the high school band and ten in the junior band. A chorus of altos and sopranos from the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades was organized under the direction of Miss Dorothy Davis. Twenty-six mem- bers in the chorus are from junior high school.-Agnes Schlecht. Q Auiieacs Future high school stars usually begin to shine in junior high athletics. jim Sones and Wayne Schmidt practiced regularly with the football team. In basketball both the boys and girls played several teams from nearby towns. Each year the best trackmen are chosen to attend the annual junior high track meet at Sac City.
