The Galva Blue Devils finished the 1954-55 season with a record of 7 wins and 12 defeats against some tough competition in the Pop Corn and Maple Valley Conferences. Perhaps the highlight of the year was their advancing to the finals of the Maple Valley tournament where they were edged out by Holstein's tall quintet. Senior forwards Van Schmidt and Ronnie O'Meara carried much of the offensive load, while Jerry Jensen, Craig Zabel, Don Webb, and Marc Lorenzen turned in some fine team play. Coach Kyle will have a strong nucleus of returning lettermen to bank on for the 1955- 56 season, but adequate replacements must be found for Schmidt, O'Meara, Lorenzen, and also reserves Ronnie Sherrill and Virdene Otto.
