CLASS PROPHECY It is now l964 and we find ourselves in the home of Lorence Ploeger, a successful Professor of Agricuture at Ames. Lorence is now reminescing his high school days and is looking through a pile of old Galva Tribune papers he has kept. The following are some of the interesting items that catch his attention: March l, l963. Fourth boy born to Mrs. ...... ....... , the former Gleneva Allen. March 22, l963. Second child born to Mrs. ...... ........ , the former Janice Anderson. Janice's career as mother has been very success- ful. June 26, l963. Betty Blau becomes bride of Dewey Baker. July l2, l963. Spud Brown purchases trucking fleet of two wheel borrows and a kiddy car. August 6, l963. Eldridge and Sheryl Drury announce the opening of their beanery in Hanover. . September l7, l963. Third son born to Mrs. ...... ........ , the former Lowella Graybill. Lowella found that being a secretary was not the best career in life. November 20, l963. Fifth child born to Mrs. Joe Grell, the former tap dancing star of Galva. December l6, l963. Miss Mary Jane Hopkins, former student of Galva is now teaching Home Economics in Galva. January IO, I964. Audrey Hustedt gets job in the United States' biggest cat hospital in Hanover. February 9, l964. Paul and Jean Kistenmacher great hit in New York. Pennies flow steadily as Jean cranks the hand organ and Paul holds the cup. March 2, I964. Curtis Larson invents Push Button Farming. Now Secretary of Agriculture in the President's Cabinet after several years as advisor to the president. April 5, l964. Verdine and LaVonne Meyer and family are vaca' tioning in Florida. Verdine stacked up 43 touchdowns for the Minnesota Gophers this year. May l8, l964. Burnell Nelson head ranger at Superior National Forest in Minnesota. June l4, l964. Darwin Otto announces the opening of the Galvcl Body Shop. July 2l, I964. Marlene Otto now secretary of Al Capp, author of l-i'l Abner. August l9, l964. Don Schoening now captain of tugboat that sails from Hawaii to the United States. His wife and their four girls are very happy that he has a boat of his own. October lO, l964. LaVonne Meyer cheers Verdine on to his l6th touchdown this year. November ll, l964. Bill Voge now Forest Ranger in Texas. December l3, l964. Gaylen Winterhof organizes jazz band in New Orleans. Well folks, this is the prophecy of the class of l954. Will the facts here really be true? Only time can tell in a matter like this, but as far as we are concerned this prophecy will do until then.
