We the Zlll Ho Zhum staff of 1953 wlsh to dedicate this annual to the faculty of Gallup High School and to the many teachers who have taught us throughout our years in school It 1S not often that the teachers receive any praise for the wonderful Job they do ln helping students gain an education Yet many of them have unselfishly dedicated then' llves and fortunes to their profession IH order to prepare us for our future re spons1b1l1t1es We shall always remember them for their untirlng efforts and their loyalty to us the future c1t1zens of Amen ca 1 1 . . r . , . . . THEY TEACH CHO0L They write no poem men's hearts to thrill, No songs they sing to lift men's soulg To battle front no soldiers lead: In halls of state, they boast no skill, They just teach school. They just teach school. But poet's thrill. And Singer's joy, and soldier's fire, And statesman's power-all-all are theirsg For in this little group where still They just teach school. Are Poets, soldiers, statesmen-allg They see them in the speaking eye, In face aglow with purpose strong, In straightened bodies, tense and tall, When they teach school.
