Many of them will have to give up, if they have not already, their loved ones but they know it is for the sake of Democracy and we feel that dedicating this Annual to them is the least we can do to show our thoughts go with them always. Those who do not come back will not be forgotten, but their memories will remain with us always. Alma Mater Gallup High School Alma Mater, Pleasant Memories never forgot Heaven and earth thy sons and daughters Will thy blessings he, And er'e the setting sun shall vanish All thy glory is thy lot, Love and Loyalty forever Is thy pledge to thee. Zlll Ho Zhunl GALLUP HIGH ScHooL GALLUP NEW MEXICO G. H. S. Students: We wish especially to thank Miss Kinder and Mr. Hackett who put so much time and effort into making the 5 2 annual a good one. Our thanks to George Height and Mullarkys Photo Shop for taking care of the picture angle. We wish to express our thanks to Mr. Paul Bennett and Semco for their wonderful help. Also we wish to thank the businessmen of Gal- lup, because without their advertisements it would be almost impossible for us to put out an annual. We hope that this volume is to your liking and hope that it will bring back many pleasant memories for years to come. FRAN MCCARTHY--DOUG OWEN S Co-Editors. Q! Charles S. M iss Blankenship, Coach Ply CLASS FLOWER CLASS MOTTO CLASS COLORS Rosebud Seek and Ye Shall Find Turquoise and White Senior Farewell In the three years at Gallup High the Seniors of '52' have worked hard to earn money to help them in their Senior year such as the Senior trip which is always a big event. Let's go back to '5O', our first year in good old G.H.S. Then we thought ourselves to be Big Wheels but we found out that we were nothing more than Spokes, Our initia- tion into the school proved this, altho we had fun we were glad when it was over. This year we were just getting started and only had two money raising projects, a dance and conces- sions. Our sponsors were Miss Krausbeck and Mrs. Loughridge. In '5l' we had much to look forward to such as the Prom and the Jr. Play which is always a big event. We worked hard on Our Miss Brooks and it seemed to be enjoyed by all. The theme of the Prom was Blue Moon and without the help of Miss Blankenship it could not have been such a big success. We had several money raising projects this year such as dances, concessions, candy raffles, etc. This year our sponsors were Miss Blankenship, Mr. Kotre, and Mr. Miley. T - Now in the year of '52' we are mighty Seniors and as the time goes by and as the year comes to a close we are faced with the fact of having to leave Gallup High and our class- mates which have seemed so close to us in the past three years. Though we leave and go our separate ways the memories of G.H.S., both good and bad, will remain with us in years l k d to come. So to the students and faculty and our Alma Mater each Senior wishes you uc an success always .... An all around musical provider for the town as well as the school, the band performs for pep rallies, parades, and adds musical pep to the student cheering section. This year marked the 4th year under the leadership of Garland T. Hampton. Football season called the band out for its first job of the year. The band put on half time shows for every home game and accompanied the foot- ball team on several trips. During the second semester, the band devotes itself to concert playing. On March 28th, the band gave their l4th annual spring concert. Concerts continue throughout the summer for the people of Gallup. The highlight of the year is the annual 2 day trek to the Fine Arts Festival in Du- rango, Colorado. They have made high ratings in both marching and playing for the four years they have attended. '.
