B S TATE Boys' State is sponsored by the American Legion and is held in Dillion every year. The purpose ot Boys' State is to offer a better understanding of city, county and state governments, teach public speaking, ancl the funda- mentals and basic principals of parliamentary and court pro- cedures. Phil Nuber, Bob Michel, Carl Lehrkind, Art Latta, Herb Lessley. - Sheila Spraggf Karen Sperry, Gloria Mitchell, Niki Nelson. STATE Girls' State, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, was held in Bozeman this summer. As in Boys' State the purpose is to become acquainted with work- ing parts of the government and to more appreciate and under- stand the duties and privileges ot an American citizen.
