Leaping over the pages of history connected with the Junior Class of 1954, we see a progressive group of boys and girls one hundred and sixteen strong. The year for this group has been a constantly motivated one. Starting off the year, our group of. Juniors led their school to a S25 prize won in the Mardi Gras parade in competition with the rest of the high school. Undertaking the problem of class rings, the group chose a design suitable to the majority. Soon preparations for the annual Jr. Class Play began and by Dec. 8, a smash hit, had been given. The Lantern Staff represented their Jr. Class by turning out the school paper and selling Spys to help the Senior Class produce the School annual. By the help of our Juniors who have participated in sports they have gained the leadership to be carried on to their Senior Year. For the future, the Junior Class looks forward to the Jr. -Sr. Reception with the hope of making it the biggest and best one yet. 38 uniom - A t' '. R ks. The club's membership registers at 13 members and when a social event is enacted, there is a job for every member. President Don Hathaway presides at all the meetings under the club's motto: Poco a Poco se va legos. A few of the clubs activities have been to convert a Latin 100kif1g 1'00fT1 into, primarily, a Spanish room, and to hold a dance after a basketball game, where on a financial standpoint is the livelihood of the club. The most exciting and enjoyable activity was the Christmas program which consisted of an actual Spanish Christmas party. There was the pinata which is the bag to be broken by a person with a blindfold over his eyes. In order to get the treat the pinata must be broken. So by their various activities and other things they hope to have many more dances and break many more pinatas. 66 Ev 3. The Galion Sr. High School Choir is still wondering how Mr. Fogt, has managed to stay sane for another year. From 10:45 until 11:45 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Mr. Fogt braves the wild horde to attempt to make musical voices from the same people who at pep rallies and games yell out cheers. But for this school term, we think he has done very well. The choir presented their annual Christmas concert in December along with the band and the glee club. The choir provided both secular and sacred music. The choir attended the annual choir festival at Crestline and two groups were selected from the choir to represent our school at a rehearsal at Tiffin, under the direction of Dr. Harry Robert Wilson, and a rehearsal and concert at Deleware. Something new happened in April, when the choir presented an entirely different musical show giving selections of songs from the minstrel show era up to the modern day style of songs. 80 I QU' mffeflferf FIRST ROW: Marie Byers, Edna Wolf, Shirley Eusey, Sandra Gledhill, Barbara Crawford.
