of the oncomlng classes the hrstory of our glorrous deeds and achreyements yy hrle we go forth to seek greater worlds to conquer It was on a brrght September nrornrng rn the year 1919 when we as a class wrth Joyful antrclpa tron and consrderable treprdatron entered old G H 5 Vke lrved through the first terrlble ordeal of find mg seats that seemed to be already occupred and hstened to our first Chapel servrce VVe were then marshalled rnto the lfreshman room where we were to camp for the year and Mr Ulrey acted as our leader We were somewhat dazed as we trred to comprehend the schedule whrch was l1ke a puzzle to us but soon adapted ourselves to the new condr trons and settled down to the regular routrne of work The marrrage of Mr Llrey whrch occured a few weeks after school opened was an event whrch called tor a great celebratlon ln the fall the boys organrzed the Freshman Boys Lrterary socrety under Mr Llrey rn whrch they sought to excel rn oratory whrle the grrls or ganrzed the Emanon Irterary socrety wrth Mrss M11 ler as dlrector In the Sprlng our rllustrrous class had rts first class meetrng when we chose our ofhcers and select ed the colors Black and Orange Later the oratorlo Messrah was gryen rn the Reformed church rn yyhrch the Freshmen were duly represented The Freshmen also showed therr skrll on the field day at Seccarunr Park Botany was a great Joy to us rn the sprlng ot the year as rt afforded many dehghtful trlps to the woods wlth Mr Llrey The months passed yery swrftly and almost before we knew rt the year was oy er and we were Freshmen no longer Vke returned after our summer yacatron older and wrser and Jorned rn the shouts and laughter when the lreshnren appeared on the scene for yye were now upper clas men The place of encampment was now on the
