I TRATIO Mr. Smith ' - .. ' g' - W Mr. Smith is our Dean of Boys and Assistant Principal. He is responsible for all disciplinary action taken on- our boys. l ' Because of his understanding and sincerity the won' their confidence. He helps them with any problems they may have. He holds conferences with parents, probation officers, attendance supervisors, school psychologists, and counselors about bo,ys having problems, disciplinary or otherwise. A , j Mr. Smith is considered not only the boys' dean, but a special friend to everyone. Galileo is proud- to claim Mr. Smith as part of our administration. D Mrs. Higgins H Mrs. Higgins is always willing to assist anyone who may need her help and guidance as Dean of Girls. She is responsible for checking all cutting, tardiness, truancy, and excessive absence of girls. She is responsible for checking the eligibility of all girls wanting to run for a school position of any kind. She is responsible for the supervision of the halls, Iavatories, and detention room. A Mrs. Higgins interviews and Nregistersleach new girl entering Galileo. She holds an assembly for the new girls to acquaint them with the rules of the school and the advantages which are enioyed by a good school citizen. She also solicits from teachers of high iunior registries nomina- tions for Girls' State. She is responsible for filling out employ-A ers' questionnaires concerning the employ-ability of Galileo girl graduates. Y f These are her duties. A few are pleasant, a few are not. She has proven her ability and. understanding, and by these has won our respect and love. Dr. Carlson ' As Head Counselor, Dr. Cairlson is responsible for alllpupil personnel services in the school. lt is his responsibility to see to it, that all the counselors do their respective iobs. it ' ' g Dr. Carlson is responsible for the co-ordination of allfclasses. He must also balance the number of students for the counselors.f He is responsible for administering the testsvrequired' by the Board of Education, The State of California, and the school. f Dr. Carlson also has his own counseleesg He is resptonsiibleforr the students with special needs.
