Girls' Block G The girls shown on this page represent a small group of girls who have participated in GAA for four terms. The block awarded to them symbol- izes the sportsmanship and skill each of them has developed. Every girl who has developedher sense of fair play and athletic ability for four terms truly deserves her block! This year the Girls' Block G attended several meetings with block mem - bers of other schools to discuss the importance of athletics in the school's extracurricular program. A joint cake sale of both the Boys' and Girls' Block G was held in May. BLOCK G SOCIETY The members of the Boys' Block G are shown below gathered for an early morning meeting. Colonel Adam Wolf who was a member of the Drill Team, Boys' Vice-President of the Stu- dent Body, and a life member of the Silver Seal Society. His staff consisted of CfCapt. Byron Fortman, executive officer, C!Capt. Garrett Lee, adjutant, C!Lt. Vladimir Stekley, public information officer, CfLt. Bryan Wong, training officer, and CfLt. Tyrone Cobb, supply officer. The Drill Team, this term, was commanded by CfCapt. Tony Leong. The Drum and Bugle Corp was commanded by CfLt. Robert Miller. Galileo's Drum 8 Bugle was selected as the only Drum S Bugle Corp to play at the annual 91st Com- petition. The Color Guard was commanded by CfLt. Robert Williams. The Saber Club was revived in the Battalion. This club consisted of commis- sioned officers only. In many ways it was like a social club, in which it could use its funds in any way it pleased. The Saber Club was led by the Battalion Comman- der C!Lt. Col. Adam Wolf as president, CfCapt. Byron Portman, vice-president, CfCapt. Tony Leong, secretary, and C!Lt. Vladimir Stekly, treasurer. A new system took place in ROTC this term. In order for a cadet master ser- geant to become a commissioned officer, he must have passed a three-part exam- ination including an interview with a board consisting of the battalion commander, executive officer, and adjutant.
