Publications By GLORIA ToMMAs1N1 Jas Editor-in-Chief, Telefrope In preparing the 1943 Telescope, the staff met with many difficulties. The book, in unconventional style, is characteristic of war-time Galileo. Every page is presented in an informal way. The staff gratefully acknowledges the help it has received in the preparation of this book by the admin- istration and the faculty. Numerous journalism students have been awarded prizes for their work in essay contests. They are: Gloria Tommasini, who won Hrst prize in the Making America Strong contest, and Gloria Glatfelter, who won second prize. Honorable mentions were received by Haig Rushdoony and Marilyn Fanelli for partici- pating in the National Scholastic's sports and editorial contests. The Pendulum published articles to promote pur- chase of bonds, planting of victory gardens, and giving of time and energy toward war-time drives. As usual the Pendulum provided Christmas boxes for needy families. The National Scholastic Press Association has awarded the Pendulum the All-American Award for the fourth time. The Staff wishes to thank the advisor, Mrs. Marjorie Cullen, for her help in making the book a success. To Miss Mary Foley and the Service Club go the appreciation of the Staff for their great financial aid through contributions from both Luggage Day and Daisy Mae Day celebrations.
