He then realized that during those tough times they had carried each other through and set other back on their own two feet. As the man came to the doorway at the end of the hall, he smiled. All the footprints went their separate ways, but they were all going in one general direction, forward.

In some places they tripped, in some places they danced, and, in some, they ran. The man realized that these had been the hard times, the fun times, and the frightening times during his high school years. As he looked back, he noticed that during the hard times, some of the footprints disap- peared. Sometimes it had been his footprints and other times it had been those of his friends.

Robert Grant Principal SCHOOL BOARD During the 1986-87 school year, the Galeton Area School District saw a change take place in the position of board president. Mr. Wayne Singer, who served sixteen years on the board, fourteen of which he was president, resigned as he moved from the school district. During his tenure, Mr. Singer was active in spearhead- ing many projects at the school, two of which were the building of a curriculum which became student-cen- tered to meet the needs of all students, and the con- struction of 1977. Mr. Singer was also involved in other community af- fairs. He was president of the Municipal Authority. Serving on both of these organization took up a con- siderable amount of his time, which he gave unselfishly. The Galetonian would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Singer and to wish Mr. Walter Gross, the new president the best in his new position. Other members of the board are: Richard Smith, vice pres., James Holleran, Jean Sepiol, Joan Jeffries, Phyl- lis Conable, David Green, Michael Smith, Larry Bailey.
