French Club Looking Back ... The French Classes enjoyed a va- riety of activities this year The Christmas season was celebrated as the classes learned traditional french carols as well as the old standards , in french of course. After an evening of sharing their chansons de Noel with folk in the community, they sampled the traditional Buche de Noel and various fondues Foreign language week was made more noteworthy as Ruth Christianson came to speak to the classes and to show slides of the things she saw the previous summer while she studied and traveled in France. Another of the activities enjoyed. by the French classes was a week of attempting to do some french cooking. In between the mousse an chocolat or the crepes of the croque-monsieur, we decided that French chefs didn't really need to worry about any serious competition from us. but we did enjoy our edible endeavors. The year was finished off by a trip to La Crosse where the French classes sampled some interna- tional cuisine. In all, it was a year well spent. Maintenant peut-etre compren- ons mieux les francais.
