r ce upon a time there lived a group of little red hens. Each hen was unique and carried with it a small piece of grain that he hoped someday would become for them a pros- perous piece of wheat. The first year for the freshmen hens is a very diffi- cult one. It is filled not only with the confusion of finding classes, and getting lockers open, but with the delight of going out for sports, and high school dances. The young hens learn a great deal but also find that many adjustments need to be made. New friends help them through these changes. Their grain has been planted. The second year, the sophomore hens have become accustomed to their rigorous schedule. They go about the task of watering and strengthening their grains of wheat with the knowledge from Geome- try, Drivers Education, and extra curricular activi- ties as well. Proudly they display their new class rings, knowing that one day their wheat, like many others, will be ready for harvest. The third year is one of excitement and fun, for much has been learned and accomplished and the hens put this knowledge to use. With all their tal- ents, they plan a successful prom and take off on a 28 mile bike trip. Athletes are now proudly playing on the varsity squads. Soon their tasks will be com- plete, for their wheat is growing rapidly, and nearly ready for harvesting. And finally, the last and final year. Heartache and joy fill this last year, but most of all there is a great sense of accomplishment. It is evident that their wheat is ready to harvest with everything behind them, including such classes as Reading and Writ- ing for College, Chemistry, Speech, and Physics. And those long nights of work for Prom, Home- coming and Class night, being heroes on the athle- tic field and many more great memories. As they harvest their wheat they each start down separate paths to make their wheat into what will become a way of life. 1. Senior Laura Elliott, reigns as Miss Trempealeau, while class- mate Dawn Schroeder is second attendant. 2. G-E-T students saw a lot of Coffee Mill Ski Area with the newly found Ski Club. 3. Seniors enjoy their last year by catching up on the latest gossip 4. Junior Mary Mack was crowned Miss Ettrick while her court consisted of classmates Kelly Stellflue as first attendant and Connie Mitchell as second attendant.
