Amy Weyant Stephanie Wiezorek Susan Wolfe Christopher Wood Norbert Ziegler To have been an exchange student in this country has been a great experience and also a wonderful one - worth every minute of homesickness. I am very glad to have been given the opportunity to get to know your country foreign to me - and its people, not only as a tourist, but also as an inhabitant. The Wisconsin nature made a great impression on me - the hills look so billowy soft to me as I am used to large pinetree forests with tiny fields dotted here and there Not only is the nature nice, but G- E-T High School is too. Everybody was friendly towards me and I really enjoyed it after I got used to the schedule and the routines. Many things were different, of course, and that was one part which made it so interesting to be here. My family for one year. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lettner and their children, deserve to be mentioned too. They did a lot for me and if they had not taken me. maybe I would not have been able to come here at all ■ I thank you. Thank you to all my friends who helped me and took me out to show me the area and what young people in Wisconsin do. When I left my parents, two sisters, two foster brothers and friends in Nybro in the southeastern part of Sweden I did not have any idea what the year ahead of me would be like. Now when I look back. I discover I can stand on my own two feet and make my own decisions without my parents around me In the fall of 1983. when I am back in Sweden again. I will continue school for two more years and try to learn more English. German, and Spanish. You see. foreign languages is one of my interests. Another is playing soccer and I will continue with that too. I warmly recommend all of you to travel a lot and see how people in other countries live. It also gives you new values and you learn a lot about yourself. Love. Susanne Slattman 22
