I see you are coming in for some undercover stuff, and the stuff under this cover is really for you. It seems, however, that before proceeding l'd better introduce myself. My good friend Emily Post says it's the thing to do, but l'm sure you all know me any- way. l'rn Streaky, descendent of a long line of dachshunds who have been watching over Galesburg Senior High for as long as I can remember. See that beautiful building to my left? That's our special kennel that we know as GHS. Then as you proceed on through this book, you'll meet the whole clan and see a few of our dog days. We only call them dog days for the sake of convention, but really they're the best years of our lives! Step right inside, and you'll meet the kennel keepers. Well, that's what I call them, but the kids refer to them as the faculty. You'll see how we spend our time and how We have our fun. You'll see our battle royals in sports, and you'll see our own GHS as we know it and love it. It has been my job to look after GHS and guide the kids along. From their first awkward year to their last successful one I've watched them as they carry on the tradi- tions of our school. I've watched the sophomores trying to find the right room. I've watched them adjust themselves as juniors. As seniors, I've watched them hurry around trading pictures and thinking intently of the future. I've seen the kids reading BUDGETS and signing each other's REFLECTOBS. I've joined them while at their work and play. Well, why not come and join me as I review this past school year? Shall we go?

THE SPIRIT This is GHS: our school and halls of learning tor three years. We'Ve walked through these corridors without giving them much thought, but now as We look at them we begin to think. Each hall and stairway led us to a class room Where we learned and studied. They led us to fun and sometimes more un- pleasant things. Here We meet our friends and teachers. Here we come and go, and now we look upon you, GHS, and say it's been great. We wo1'1't forget your long corridors. We won't forget you and your many classrooms. No, GHS, We Won't forget.
