Mr. Goodwin has eome to the rescue many times vt hen decorations need- ed an extra nail or when helpful suggestions were needed during a meeting. Serving his first year as Dean. Mr. Goodwin has proved to be a very popular and sought-after man in the office because of his willing- LX. . K ness to cooperate in every situation. Taking over competently at the beginning of the second semester, three more Guiding Lights , Mr. Robert Hungerford. Mrs. Le Roy Donaldson and Mr. Arthur Iiish became members of the G. H. S. faculty. W'hen Miss Margaret Hanson left the commercial department to work as a secretary with an advertising firm. Mr. Hungerford, recently discharged from the army. came in her place to take charge of future secre- taries and to work with the publications business staff as money managern. Mrs. Le Roy Donaldson came in lfebruary to take over Shirley Schoning's position as registrar in the main iifhce. She has taken care of the big job of arranging schedules. giving out the bad news on report cards, and keeping school records. Coming home from Coast Guard duty. Mr. Fish r:turned to his old position as biology instructor. there- by freeing Mr. Howard XVhitcomb to serve Lombard as acting principal. A fourth Guiding Light . Mrs. Helen Hulson of Macomb, Illinois. assumed the work of Miss Harryette Salyers on April l. when Miss Salyers accepted a position as physical director for -Iohn Powers models. 10
