Connecticut Memories Connecticut hills are Iilce songs to me, They lift my heart and malce it free. They urge me up where breezes blow To view the scattered daisy fields below. They talce me down where broolcs are found Running peacefully to a shaded town. The hilltops of Connecticut Are never thin and bare, I Icnow, for I've often piclced Wild strawberries growing there. Ile I was sitting on a river banlc When the sun had left the hill Listening to the criclcets As they one by one grew still. The shadows of the evening Came and covered me Xxfhile soft breezes caught the odors Of a sweet magnolia tree.
