V.I.P.S NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The Galesburg-Augusta chapter of the National Honor Society has named 13 students, who were chosen upon the basis of four attributes: Character, Leadership, Service, and Scholarship. SENIOR VALEDICTORIAN - John Gladysz has maintained a 4.0 av¬ erage throughout high school and holds ma¬ jors in French, Math, Science, and Chemis¬ try. In addition to his studies at G-A, he is studying at Western Michigan University. This fall John plans to transfer to the Honors College at the University of Michigan, where he will major in either chemistry or mathematics. He plans to enter research in one of the two fields. JOHN SALUTATORIAN - David Shafer has been named to this honor by earning a 3.952 average during the four years of high school. He plans to attend Michigan Technological University at Hough¬ ton to become an electrical engineer. David is an Eagle Scout and a member of the National Honor Society. DAVID
