HELENE STAGER -- Teaching was always the ambition of Mrs. Stager, who says she was encouraged by her teachers to go on to college. She decided to teach math because she had had a great deal of it in school and she liked the subject. Mrs. Stager prefers teaching history, however, because she can see the need to be well-in¬ formed and one ’’can ' t always see an immediate need for math.” Her ambition is to bring out the best in everyone I meet; to help them to achieve their potential. ” Cooking and camping are her favorite pastimes, and she also likes to read. VIRGINIA WINTER -- When Mrs. Winter was a little girl, she wanted to be a nurse. She decided to teach physical education because she liked to play sports in high school. Her favorite pastimes are bridge, sewing, ice skating, and knitting. ”1 like to do everything”, she says. Her ambition is to stay right where she is. 12 VIRGINIA SISSON -- Mrs. Sisson ' s childhood ambition was to teach because she enjoyed talking to people, and has always been able to see others questions. Her hob¬ bies are creative writing, cooking, sewing, and getting to know and understand people. She also reads volumes and corrects English papers.” Mrs. Sisson’s ambitions are to have one of her short stories published and to meet J. D. Salinger. JOHN WAGAR -- Mr. Wagar ' s only real childhood am¬ bition was to go to college. He didn ' t know what he wanted to do, so he tried teaching. To G-A’s good for¬ tune, he enjoyed it and has been teaching ever since. He enjoys playing golf and working with wood. Tables, cabinets, and a church altar are among the products of his handicraft. Mr. Wagar ' s ambition is to raise his three children and put them through college.

SABINA JASIAK -- Miss Jasiak has wanted to be a teach¬ er since she was a little girl. She chose French because she liked it in high school. Her hobbies are golf, tennis, and playing the piano. Miss Jasiak ' s ambition is to be a good housewife and mother in the future. BILL MASKILL -- To be a baseball player was the child¬ hood ambition of Coach Maskill. When he was in high school he decided that he wanted to coach. A desire to play more football after high school sent him to college where he was told that he had to teach if he wanted to coach. His first year out of college he worked as a salesman, but when he began coaching in 1949, he knew he would never get out of it. Coach Maskill ' s ambition is to continue to produce teams as great as G-A ' s have been for the last 7 years. With Maskill as coach, how can we fail? GARY MORRISON -- Mr. Morrison’s childhood ambition was to be a professional baseball player. When he was in the 10th grade, he decided that he wanted to teach because he liked kids and school atmosphere. Mr. Mor¬ rison’s hobbies are all sports, except tennis, working in the shop in his basement, and camping out. His present ambition is to stay in coaching, and possibly go into secondary administration. GEORGE McGINNIS -- Crime investigation fascinated Mr. McGinnis, so he decided to be a policeman when he grew up. He had to give up this ambition, however, because he didn ' t meet the height requirement. He went into the service, and there met many professional athletes. Mr. McGinnis then decided that he wanted to coach and teach biology, which he had always liked. Hib hobbies are coin collecting, photography, and all sports. Mr. McGinnis ' ambition is to get his masters degree in biology.

PATRICIA YARDLEY -- Nursing or teaching were the childhood ambitions of Mrs. Yardley. She decided to teach business because progress can be seen in skill sub¬ jects which cannot be seen in academic subjects. Mrs. Yardley enjoys all spectator sports, swimming, reading, and fishing.
