WAYNE BERGER -- As a child, Mr. Berger wanted to be¬ come a pro baseball player, but when he reached high school, he decided that he wanted to coach. He played college basketball while attending Western Michigan University. Since coming to G-A, Mr. Berger has had coaching assignments in baseball, basketball, and foot¬ ball, and is now the high school guidance counselor. His hobbies are golf and bowling. JAMES ATWOOD -- An M.D. was the childhood goal of Mr. Atwood. However, the influence of a high school band director interested him in band directing. This is Mr. Atwood ' s first year at G-A, but he is well on his way to realizing his ambition of developing a first divi¬ sion band at our school. In addition to band directing, he also enjoys listening to records and hunting deer. ROGER BOOMERSHINE -- Mr. Boomershine accomplished his childhood ambition to be a pilot, but sold his plane when he came here in 1956. In 1948, through unusual circumstances, his teaching career was launched, and since that time he has completed graduate work in In¬ dustrial Arts. His present ambition is to finish the new home which he has been building. RUTH BURRELL -- Mrs. Burrell ' s childhood ambition was to be a competitive swimmer and diver. Her parents wished for a professional musician in the family and she thought musical comedy would be fun. While in college, she also considered a career in physical therapy, but she graduated with a degree in Physical Education. Her graduate work was in Library Science. Mrs. Burrell ' s hobbies are swimming, golf, and reading. Her ambition is to see more of the world. 8

JEAN COGGINS -- As a child, Mrs. Coggins thought that she would like to be a lawyer. She decided to teach be¬ cause she loved history and teaching was about the only thing to do with it. Her hobbies are baking and reading. Gone With the Wind heads her list of favorite books. Mrs. Coggins other pastime is keeping up with her three children, George, Dale, and Kathy. Her ambition is to see her three children graduate from college, and then ’’graduate from high school” herself. DOMINIC COURT -- When a child, Mr. Court thought of teaching, but fancied himself as a writer or novelist. In college, he majored in English and kind of drifted into teaching. Mr. Court enjoys bowling, and holds a 170 average. He also started playing golf last summer. His ambition is to contribute something worthwhile to G-A High School. VERNON CRAMER -- Mr. Cramer developed a liking for shop when he was in high school. Encouraged by his teachers, he decided to become a shop teacher. His present ambition is to earn his master ' s degree in guidance counseling. Sports, particularly softball, head Mr. Cra¬ mer ' s list of hobbies. He also enjoys traveling. MARY DORAN -- She has always drawing, so naturally Mrs. Doran thought she would become an artist when she grew up. She liked art and studied it in college. In. addition to painting, Mrs. Doran also trains dogs in obe¬ dience. She trained her own two Shetland Sheep dogs, Bonnie and Sparkles. Her ambition is to travel, particu¬ larly through Europe, and sketch as she goes.
