Betty June Kibler Sam Price Norma McMillan Patsy Gibson SENIOR On September 3, 1945, 57 WSophiesW entered the halls of G.H.S. Under the sponsorship of Mrs. Ethel Bond, Mrs. Lucille Mermoud, and Mrs. Mary Thomas, the following officers were elected: Patty Lou Jones-president, Bob Kitch-vice presidentg Mary Lou Barnes-secretaryg Richard Edwards-treasurer, and Norma McMillan-reporter. Patsy Gibson and Marion Hayward were our Student Council representatives. Patsy Gibson, the Sophomore candidate for queen of the 'Blue and Whiten was barely defeated by the Juniors for second place in the contest. The class enjoyed several parties throughout the year. On September 2, 19L6, A5 students climbed another step and took the name of Juniors officers: secretary, were Mary Jones, our were stars at G.H.S. At our first class meeting we elected the following Jerry Thomas-president, Bob Kitch-vice president, Lois Netherton- and Norma McMillan-treasurer. Our Student Council representatives Lou Barnes and Billy Jarrett. We succeeded in placing Patty Lou candidate for football queen, in first place. Several of our boys in football, basketball, and track. Mary Lou Barnes, our WBlue and White' queen candidate, placed second. The Junior sponsors, Mrs. Ethel Bond and Mrs. Mary Thomas, were complimented on the successful presentation of the Junior Play WThe Daffy Dillsn which was presented in the high school auditor- ium, December 13. Several delightful parties were enjoyed throughout the year and on May 2, we entertained the Seniors at the annual Junior-Senior banquet. In the fall of 1957, 36 seniors entered the doors of G.H.S. for their final year. Officers chosen at the first class meeting were: Betty June Kibler-president, Sam Price-vice presidentg Norma McMillan-secretary, and Patsy Gibson-treasurer. Wilma Ruth Goodman and Jerry Thomas were our Student Council representatives. Willa Dean Murphy, our candidate for queen of the 'Blue and Whiten defeated all opponents by a wide margin. Success again came to us when Patsy Gibson was crowned queen of the l9A7 football season. The seniors were well represented in the athletic department and in all music organizations. The class owes a great deal to Ethel Bond and Mary Thomas, sponsors, for their help and guidance in presenting our class play April 16, which was received with great enthusiasm. To bring to a close our most enjoyable year at G.H.S., we were entertained by the Juniors at a magnificent prom in May, and received our diplomas May 13.
