SENIQR CLASS Jimmie Neihart WHT! Ellen Sha' Carolyn Hetherton Bob Shears In September of l9h3,a group of anxious 'Sophies' entered the haven of G.H.S. With Miss Anne Seeley and Miss Dorothy Fisher as sponsors we elected the following officers: Bob Shears, presidentg Pat Ryan, vice presidentg and Carolyn Netherton, secretary-treasurer. Student council members were Bob Adams and Jeannine Shaw. Our queen candidate of the 'Blue and White' was Lois Means. Our class was well represented in spor s. Our roll call diminished to L8 at the beginning of our junior year. Under the sponsorship of Mrs. Ethel Bond and Miss Dorothy Fisher, we called our first class meeting and the following officers were elected: Carolyn Netherton, presidentg Daryl Russell, vice presidentg Dalphine Parker, secretaryg Neal Myers, treasurerg and Bob Shears and Geraldine Yount, student council representatives. We got off to a good start by winning the football ticket selling contest. We succeeded in placing our queen candidate, Donna Bradshaw, second in the annual contest. On November 21, we gave our Junior Class play, 'Mr. Beane from Lima' which received many compliments. We kept up the old tradition of entertaining the so-called 'dignified seniors' of 'L5 at the annual Junior-Senior Banquet. The theme was 'Ration5ng.' At last we have earned the distinction of the title 'dignified seniors'--forty-two victorious seniors! We elected the following-class officers: Jimmy Neihart, president: Bob Shears, vice presidentg Mary Ellen Shaw, secretaryg and Carolyn Netherton, treasurer. Richard Posey and Geraldine Yount were student council members. We attained another great goal--that of placing our candidate, Dalphine Parker, as queen of the 'Blue and Wh1te'. With Miss Dorothy Fisher and lr. Howard Weld as our sponsors we presented our Senior Class play 'The Campbells Are Coming' on April 5. On May 3 we were guests of the Juniors at the Junior-Senior Banquet which will be among our fond memories of our days at G.H.S.
