lr I Q3 v--'Qlm-'Rl s-'Qln-fifghgiifiand Class History On September 5, 1932, there entered the portals of G. H. S. a group of eighty excited boys and girls whom our upper classmen referred to as green- horns . We were not the only new people in the school that year: there were several new teachers. Under the sponsorship of Miss'Norma Ruedi and Mrs. Harold Klein we held our first class meeting and elected the following officers: President, Arthur Jackman: Vice President, Dixie Watson: Secretary and Treas- urer. Pearl Joan Bottom: Reporter, Betty Simon. We chose black and orange for our class colors and the Red Carnation as our class flower. Many of our classmates showed real school spirit by becoming active mem- bers of various clubs and musical organizations. During our Sophomore and Junior years we were under the joint sponsor- ship of Mrs. Ethel Bond and Mr. Sanborn. Our Junior year was filled with many exciting events and outstanding achievements. The Junior Christmas party, held at the Riverton Club house, was our first class party during our three years at G. I-I. S. In the spring of 1935 we successfully -presented our class play, Much Ado About Betty. lt was also our privilege to entertain the class of '35 at the first Junior-Senior Banquet to be held in the new High School Auditorium. By the end of our third year many of our boys had shown great athletic ability and received school letters. Of the three three-let- ter men, two were chosen from our class. Now at last, we have become what the lower classmen term dignified sen- irs , and our last year at G. H. S. is nearly over. With a class roll of 22 girls and 27 boys we are the largest class to graduate from this school for several years. We chose as our leaders for the memorable year the following officers: President, Bill Poole: Vice President, Paul Ferguson: Secretary, Margaret Helen Cook: Treasurer, Grant Powell: Reporter, Myra Louise Baker: Cheer Leaders, Imogene Parsons and Craig Bennett. Miss Dorotha Senter and Mr. Dan Abbey are our sponsors. Under their supervision we held our annual Christmas Party and presented our class play, Dotty and Daffy. To the Junior Class We give thanks for a most delight- ful Prom. And now, as our class passes into history, we have left as a token of our appreciation and our school's appreciation for forty years of faithful service in the teaching staff of G. H. S., a bronze tablet to Miss Flora Hubbard. Page Thirteen
