Students studiedthe con- tributions -of authors in American literature and themes of stories as they related to modern times.. Special emphasis was placed on composition in reach grade level. Writing began inthe eighth grade with sentence structure and paragraph writing and progressed through thetwelfthe grade with narration and essays for greater depth of expression.
