All School Skating Party IQ57-V353 On April 19, 1958, the entire school Went to Great Bend for a picnic and roller skating party. There were 42 students and guests present, and all had a wonderful time. We enjoyed skating from 1:30 till 4:00 P.M. The school cooks packed us a sack lunch of sandwiches, potato chips, cookies, and bananas. At the skating rink we all refreshed oLu'selves with Soda which was paid for by the Student Council Fund. School Carnival l957-I953 April 18, 1958 was the date for our School Carnival. It was held at the school house. The Carnival was held to raise money for our last day of school trip. One Hundred and Nine Dollars was cleared at the Carnival. Some of the highlights of the carnival was Madam Melinda, the Fortune Teller who was Melinda Karst. Romeo and Iuliet was portrayed by Shirley Akings and Vickie Wilhelm. Hula-Hula Akings honored us with his famous dance straight from the Islands. We had a Snack-Bar, fishing pond, and Bingo. Lloyd Bray won a pair of baby socks for having the biggest feet, Mrs. Hollingsworth won a box of Cherry Chocolates for being the prettiest girl. There was a drawing for a beautiful blanket, set of table lamps, and a towel set. A cake walk was held and large angel-food cakes were given to the winner of the walks. Mrs. George Hester won the grandest prize of all, a grand total of 349 Iellybeans and a pie plate for 1041. Everyone enjoyed themselves at the Snack-Bar and Bingo table. After an evening of fun and merriment the carnival was closed and everyone went home.
