They eniered a floal in The Homecoming compelifion. They raised funds by holding bake sales lhroughour l'he year. Margie Field Cheerleading af GHS fool: on a new look fhis year. Fashion-conscious as ever.. 'lhe varsify squad olofained new winfer uniforms wifh The help of 'lhe Pep Club. However, new uniforms were no+ fhe only difference. Under fheir new sponsor. Miss Jean Pence. lhe girls experimenfed wifh new sfyles of cheers and rearranged old favorifes fo accommo- dafe eighf girls insfead of fhe fradifional nine. The wresfling cheerleaders slarled fheir second year wilh changes foo. Under 'rhe leadership of a new sponsor, Mrs. Caferina Beim, fhey increased fheir squad fo seven girls and added a mascof. The JV cheerleaders were composed of six girls. Under fheir new sponsor. Mrs. Sharon Freyfag, fhey helped fo publicize JV foolball games and added a mascof fo cheer wilh fhem during baslcefball season. Through all of fhese changes. fhe girls refained fheir spirif and helped arouse enfhusiasm for many phases of 'lhe Troians' exfra- curricular aclivifies. They found fime no'l' only fo work for ofhers. loul' also managed a few fund-raising acfivifies for fhemselves. ln +he fall 'lhey sponsored 'rhe firsl' band dance of fhe year and sold Trojan beanies and pens.
