Mr.Wi!bznf11 O Eebols Superintendent Mr, Wilburn O. Echols graduated from Greenville High School and later attended Paris Junior College for one and a half years. He then went to Southern Methodist University and earned a Bachelor Degree of Science in Business Administration. ln 1946 and 1947 he received aMasters Degree at East Texas State University in ad- ministrative education. Mr. Echols attended North Texas State University where he earned fifteen hours toward his terminal degree. In 1940 and 1943, he served as principal and head coach for Newcastle High School. After three years in the Navy, he was named athletic director and coach at Greenville High School. He then moved to the position of principal of Greenville Junior High in 1949. In 1952 he became Superintendent of Olney Public Schools, and in 1959, he served as Superin- tendent of Grapevine Public Schools. On July 1, 1961, Mr. Echols came here to take the position of Superin- tendent of the Gainesville Public School System.

Mr. James V. Campbell Since 1960, Mr. James V, Campbell has servedas principal of Gainesville High School. Prior to that he was assistant principal for four years. After graduating from Cleburne High School, Mr. Campbell attended North Texas State University. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. During World War II, Mr. Campbell served four years in the Navy. In 1945, he accepted the position of principal at Robert E, Lee Elementary School.
