Homecoming '66 at GHS was a week of the old and new. The new slogan, Buccaneers get fixed as Hurricanes rage in '66, became the center of activities. Lull Week was highlighted by Hat Day with prizes given for the most original. ThursdaynightStormwarning,with the crowning of the new Home- coming Queen and Court, took place. 1966 senior football sponsors were Kirby Green, Claudia Musgrave, Terry Young, and Bob Brackin. Brackin. Anticipation grew as the Caneswere to face the Mainland Buccaneers Friday night. 13

Cathy Alvarez, Ann Becker, Carolyn Emo, and Cissy Roundtree made up the Court. Acting talent became evident as students participated in skits and individual acts at Stormwarning. Thespians won lst place for their Purgatory Relived, and The Cadets won lst place in the individual talent division. The only pep parade of the year took place Friday afternoon with over 50 units participating. Everyone helped to make 1966 Homecoming at GHS a success. But, ironically, Friday night, in the most breath-taking game of the year, the Canes were defeated by the Nlain- land Buccaneers, 21-20. N. Y. tv., 1 ll' ,..f f
