G. H. S. Assemblies Even though assemblies are few in number, each one has its own special meaning. Some assemblies held during the year were Student Council and Senate installations. Ring Ceremony The Ring Ceremony is a Gaffney High School tradition. On the evening of November 11, 1985, the Class of ‘86 held their ring ceremony. Seniors at GHS symbolize their everlasting friendships and unity through the use of their class rings. Prom ’85 On March 29, the Junior Class presented the Senior Class with a Junior-Senior Prom. The GHS cafaeteria was transformed into the “Purple Galaxy.” The room was filled with stars, streamers, and even purple rain. The “Purple Galaxy” was enjoyed by all who attended.
