It was the end of my world. All hopes of happiness had faded, as a dream that is so beautiful, passing like a cool summer breeze. You were my summer love, unique from all of the others. You came to me as quickly and as softly as a winter's blanket of new-fallen snow. You created me, enveloped me with security and an immediate sense of well-being. You were my future, my past, my everything. All of my hopes and dreams were reborn, as if by some mystical, magical reincarnation of a freshly blossomed flower. And like a flower did our relationship bloom to it's fullest beauty. And like a flower, when the cold north winds bring the death of summer and replace it with the sirs of autumn did our love fold and die. by: Patti Devendorf 1 7' 'N ,la Ziff 1 1 X JL ,jf l ,rl r ' i ff 4 X ,, I V W

Judi Clzance Majestically rolling, 'cross seas of green and grey Traveling with Mercury, yet gentle as the breeze Winding the stages of eternity back to days of remembered joy Days of regal dominion over a sea of grass, untouched by those false implements of construction, the human hand. Rolling body, haunces high, rippling glaze of silver-slick. Swish of powerful mesh of tail Softened plush of pounding feet As the last of those legendary wild Western Stallions makes a last rush for freedom from a state of no escape. Xml 7 I JJ

.1411 .xdrfiafh fdewpoinf We are all just pieces to an intricate sculpture of life. We arrive, we grow, we shed our light, whether it is dull or bright. Some of us pull away, but never really become, for the surrounding pieces hold us back, leaving our accomplishments limited, and although we'd be better to break away and go our separate ways, not many of us see that, for we've been this way for too long. But the few that do, are rarely noticed. for they are just one piece, of too many more. I stand among, but am alone, The dreams I dream are just my own, the few that pass don't notice me, the good I hold they'll never see. The future laughs, the past just cries, I live a fool. a fool I'll die. Don't preach me your god cause I don't believe, That there's such a thing, there never will be. Don't feed me beliefs of the past that's now gone, I want the future, cause what's done is done. Don't ask me to love the things that you might. You're asking the limits, of what's wrong and right. Don't tell me to fear your dangers of life. Cause I'm not afraid. to live or to die. Don't ask me to wear the mold that you've made. Cause I'll turn forever. and walk away. As each day comes to an end, into our hearts go memories of the day that has just been. Debbie Hamer Seek to find the best life has to offer: Look deep into the harsh eyes of the world. Goodness is often disguised . . . locked within the black darkness which envelopes the earth. The un- iverse has much to reveal: find the key to hap- piness . . . bliss is within grasp. Wendy Stone 28 Something Special. something real. something 'bout you makes me feel, that time will come, and time will pass. till you and I. will know at last, the things that we are meant to be. and in the end we both might see, that all the times we shared as friends, we'll both be lonely in the end, so if we go our separate ways, and let the years slip by like days, there'll come a time when you will see, the person at your door is me. Let me run away from responsibility. and let me run. from love and hate as I choose. and let me hide in fear, yet be aware. of everything that is beautiful and pure and good. and love it with awe, for I'm still a child. I cannot learn to decide . . . if you make my decisions, I cannot learn to be myself . . , if you tell me what to be, Let me choose what I must learn. 2955 Smash?
