Mr. Clark graduated from Lansingburgh High School in Troy, N.Y. in 1937, from Albany State College in 1941 with a Bachelor's Degree in French, English and Social Studies. Mr. Clark received a Master's Degree in Educational Administra- tion from St. Lawrence University in 1948. Mr. Clark com- pleted course work for the degree of Doctor of Education Che does not hold the degreej from Syracuse University School of Education in the period 1952-54. Mr. Clark taught in Conifer, N.Y., Chateaugay, N.Y. served as chief school officer in Conifer, Waddington and Fulton. Mr. Clark was also an assistant instructor in the School of Educa- tion in Syracuse University. Mr. Clark's military service includes 416 years during World War 2 in the United States and Europe and 2 years service in Korea. Mr. Clark was awarded 5 Battle Stars and the Bronze Star during World War 2 and was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal for his service during the Korean War. Mr. Clark was promoted from Private at the start of Wrold War 2 to Captain during the Korean War. Mr. Clark came to Fulton in july 1954 as Principal of the Fulton High School, serving as High School Principal from 1954 until 1959. He served as Assistant Superintendent of Schools from February 1959 to June 1959 and has served as Superintendent of Schools from July 1, 1959 until January 31, 1976. During his term as Superintendent, the Board of Educa- tion completed construction as follows: G. Ray Bodley High School, Volney Elementary School, James E. Lanigan School Addition and extensive remodeling of all elementary schools. During the period of his superintendency, the school district became a consolidated school district, became a member of the Oswego County BOCES and developed the most extensive Ti- tle I ESEA Program in Oswego County. - In the community Mr. Clark has been a member and trustee of the First United Methodist Church, a former President of Oswego-Fulton Torch Club and member of Hiram Lodge FSLAM, Treasurer of the Fulton Public Library Board, and he has served as a trustee of the Fulton Savings Bank from 1962 until the present date. In the Central New York Area, Mr. Clark has been the Superintendents' representative to Section III of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association and has served as a member of the Executive Committee of that Association. On the state wide basis, Mr. Clark has served as trustee of the Pupil Benefits Plan Inc., a school insurance cor- poration. For the past 4 years, Mr. Clark has served as Presi- dent of the Board of Trustees of that organization. Mr. Clark is married to the former Eleanor Marie Nelson, a teacher in the Phoenix Central School District. The Clarks have two children- Bruce N. Clark, an attorney in.Fulton, holds a Bachelor's Degree from State University College at Albany and a Juris Doctor Degree from University of Louisville, and Susan C. Miller, a resident of Bloomington, In- diana, where she holds a clerical position in the School of Education of Indiana University. Susan holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in German from Middlebury College. Mr. and Mrs. Clark have one granddaughter, Amanda Carey Clark, daughter of Bruce Clark.
