Since she has been here, Nanny has participated on the girls' Field Hockey and Basketball teams. The American Field Service Representative from the Class of '76 was Dick Chalifoux. Dick spent July and August of 1975 in Manaus, Amazonas located in the country of Brazil. Manaus is a free port situated near the jungle on the Amazon River and is a city of approximately 600,000 inhabitants. He lived with the Atlas Bacellar Family under the A.F.S. program and had three sisters fWaldiva-15, Aldiva-16, and Ghislaine-191 and one brother fAtlas-173 along with his parents Atlas Sr., a government journalist, and Waldiva, a college secretary. During his stay, Dick practiced native customs and lived a Brazilian way of life. He learned a great deal of Portuguese, the national language of Brazil, and became a pretty good volleyball and soccer player while abroad last summer. is , ,rpms i
