Those who choose Furman know that the liberal arts education provides something more than a means to an end, more than an impersonal place to learn a trade or just have a good time. Liberal arts means the combination of rigorous academics and growth-producing cultural and social experiences, if chosen, is often a difficult path to take. At Furman, students have to learn in both the curricular and extracurricular environments in order to capitalize on all that the university has to offer.
