Furman Singers MR. DuPRE RHAME Conductor September found the old and new members eager to begin the new year, which promised many hours of hard work, but also many of fun. First performance at the Baptist State Convention in Columbia was a treat for the entire convention. Special music for Religious Focus Week followed. “The Messiah at First Baptist Church was better than ever. All work ond no play makes a dull boy, so interspersed with the work were Mr. Rheme's parties, the homecoming exhibit, and the annual party. A voried program of Mozart compositions was given during the Mozart Festival , the first event of its kind ever held at Furman. The program for the annual tour was well received in cities throughout North Carolina and Virginia. Changing from Operetta to Opera, two performances of The Bartered Bride were presented in May. Hats off” to the directors and cast for an outstanding production. Hard work, cooperation, the Furman Spirit , and love for Mr. Rheme ond the organization contributed to the success of the year. Graduation meant the last performance for mony, but it provided a fitting climax to an outstanding year. OFFICERS Left to Right: BROWNIE BRADLEy. Secretary-Treasurer; ANDY HARPER. Business Manager; BECKy TAPP. Vr« President; CHARLIE 8ROCK. President: WALKER 8RE-LAND. Accompanist.
