MARVIN HUGHES Preiident Student Legislature The legislative branch of the men's government has absolute power in all legislative matters pertaining to the student body, has the power to impeach any student officer, composes the handbook tests and amends the constitution. Since the new constitution is almost near completion, the Legislature gave little consideration to amending the old constitution. Under the capable leadership of President Marvin Hughes, the Legislature rechart ered all campus clubs and issued charters to new organizations. Government MAy FRANCES BAILEY Pf«idcnt lAJomen A The Woman’s Self Government Association is composed of the executive officers, class and organization presidents, representatives from the classes. Day Students' Association, and religious groups. The council meets every Monday night and acts as the coordinator for all campus activities and enforces the regulations of the school. House Board All phases of dormitory life on the Woman's Campus are supervised by the House Board, whose efforts are aimed at making dormitory life more pleasant. House Board gives penalties for infraction of rules and conducts the fire drills. On the more pleasant side, it is responsible for dorm parties. Homecoming and Christmas decorations, and the entertainment of the freshmen at Orientation. Frances Self served as president and Janie Wood as vice-president. Dormitory presidents are: East, Betty Ann Green; Main, Dee LaCoste; North, Lou Jean Moore; Townes, Gena Jo Fant; West, Jo Burgess; Rosemary, Martha Phillips; and Montague, Nancy Bousman.
