 Marshals To maintain quiet, to usher people to their seats, and to be of general assistance to the guests in the auditorium are among the duties of the Marshal Board. The main responsibility of this group is to usher at chapel and graduation. Each class chooses three of its members to serve as marshals on the basis of their efficiency, poise, dignity, and cordial personality. FRANCES SKELTON. 80BBIE AN LISTER JANIE WOOD. JOYCE FLYNN. ADA MEEKS. The purpose of Social Standards Board is to set standards of dress and conduct on and off the campus at the Zoo. Miss Susy Zoo pamphlets which contained helps and hints concerning social behavior at Furman, were sent to all freshmen before school opened. After-dinner coffee on Sunday and semi-formal dinner were among the weekly projects of the Board. Music at evening meals was also sponsored by Social Standards. STUDENT-FACULTY COMMITTEE The Student-Faculty Cooperative Committee was established to maintain a harmonious relationship between the students on the separate campuses, the faculty, and the administration. Among the many things discussed are inter-campus problems, regulations, and other subjects pertaining to the student body and its growth. The group has no power other than to recommend procedures. Members this year include: Nell Harding, Nancy Minor, Ada Meeks, Billy Mitchell, James Jordan, and Sammy Brant from the student body, and Miss Sara Lowrey, Miss Marguerite Chiles, Mr. Ernest Harrill, and Dr. Robert Jackson from the faculty. 27
